Privacy Policy

In one paragraph

TekFocus collects the minimum information needed to respond to inquiries, prevent abuse, and understand how the site is being read. The site does not use tracking cookies. The site does not run advertising. The site does not sell personal information. Information you provide through the contact form is sent to the TekFocus team at info@tekfocus.com and retained for the limited operational period described below. This policy explains exactly what is collected, who processes it, and how long it lives.

Who this policy is from

What we collect

Contact form submissions. When you complete the contact form at /contact, we collect:

  • The name and email address you provide
  • The message body you write
  • The briefing type you select (if pre-filled by a service-line page)
  • Any optional fields you complete (role, company, project context)
  • The timestamp of the submission
  • A cryptographic CSRF token (set as a short-lived cookie strictly for form security; expires when the session ends)
  • A Cloudflare Turnstile token used solely to verify you are not an automated bot

We do not collect form data unless you submit the form.

Aggregate site analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookie-free analytics service that records aggregate site usage — page views, country of origin (derived from IP and immediately discarded), browser and operating system in aggregate, and referring page. Plausible does not set cookies, does not track individual users across sessions or sites, and does not collect personal information. The analytics data lets us understand which pages are read and from where, in aggregate only.

Standard server logs. Our host, SiteGround, maintains standard web server logs containing IP address, timestamp, requested URL, response status, and user agent string. These logs are retained for SiteGround's standard period and are used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We do not connect these logs to any personal information you may have provided through the contact form.

What we do not collect

This site does not use tracking cookies, behavioral advertising pixels, or cross-site identifiers. Specifically, this site does not load:

  • Meta Pixel / Facebook Pixel
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag
  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Google advertising tags
  • TikTok Pixel
  • Any other third-party tracking or behavioral advertising script

The only third-party scripts that load on this site are Plausible Analytics (cookie-free, privacy-first) and Cloudflare Turnstile (for contact-form spam protection).

How we use the information we collect

Contact form submissions are used to:

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Schedule follow-up conversations (executive briefings, calls, meetings)
  • Maintain a record of inquiries for internal operational and reporting purposes
  • Prevent spam and abuse

We do not use contact form submissions for marketing email blasts. If TekFocus later operates a newsletter, you will be invited to opt in separately; submitting the contact form does not subscribe you to any list.

Aggregate analytics are used to:

  • Understand which pages are read most often
  • Identify navigation issues and content gaps
  • Make editorial and content decisions

Server logs are used to:

  • Diagnose technical issues
  • Detect and prevent abuse (excessive automated requests, security probes)

Who we share information with

TekFocus does not sell, rent, or otherwise commercialize personal information. The third parties who process information on our behalf are:

  • SiteGround — our hosting provider. Processes traffic and stores server logs.
  • Cloudflare — Turnstile bot protection on the contact form. Processes the Turnstile token to confirm you are not an automated bot. No personal information passes through Turnstile.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Graph) — our email infrastructure. When you submit the contact form, the Microsoft Graph API sends a notification email to info@tekfocus.com and an auto-reply to the address you provided.
  • Plausible Analytics — our aggregate analytics provider. Cookie-free, privacy-first, based in the European Union.

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy commitments. We selected each one specifically for its privacy posture.

We will also disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful process), to protect our legal rights, or to investigate security incidents.

How long we keep information

  • Contact form submissions — retained for 24 months from submission, after which they are deleted from our archive unless an active engagement requires longer retention.
  • Aggregate analytics — retained by Plausible per its policy (typically the lifetime of the site, in fully aggregated form with no personal data).
  • Server logs — retained by SiteGround per its standard policy.
  • CSRF cookie — session-only; deleted when you close your browser.

If you ask us to delete information we hold about you, we will do so within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or operationally necessary for an active engagement to which you are a party.

Your rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Request that we delete that information
  • Correct inaccurate information we hold
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (TekFocus does not sell or share personal information, so this opt-out is the default state)
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact info@tekfocus.com with the words "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days.

Texas residents have similar rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. The same contact path applies.

EU and UK visitors

If you are visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data protection law, the same minimization commitments above apply. TekFocus collects only the information needed to respond to you, processes it through privacy-first third parties (Plausible for analytics, Cloudflare for Turnstile, Microsoft 365 for email), and retains it only for the period described. We do not sell personal information and do not engage in targeted advertising.

To exercise your rights of access, correction, deletion, or objection under applicable law, contact info@tekfocus.com. We do not currently maintain an EU or UK representative; if you require formal data subject request handling under GDPR or UK GDPR procedures, contact us and we will respond in good faith and consistent with the spirit of those protections.

Children

This site and its services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information collected through this site, including HTTPS for all traffic, modern Microsoft 365 email security (DKIM, SPF, DMARC), Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, and standard host-level security controls through SiteGround. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a material breach affecting your information, we will notify affected parties consistent with applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for a reasonable period after they take effect.
